Job summary

Valmont in Tulsa, OK is seeking an experienced welder to operate a flux-core sub-arc welding process on a multi-sided steel shaft, placing joints and working solo or in a team. This role requires precise welds and strict adherence to safety and quality standards.

Starting pay is $29.35/hour with potential to $32/hour by six months, plus a $2/hour night shift differential. You will load/unload with an overhead crane, perform preheating, and follow WPS guidelines in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Experience with sub-arc welding is required.
• Ability to read work instructions and follow safety rules.
• Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload pole sections onto base sled with an overhead crane.
• Preheat baseplate as required.
• Apply backing weld using the GMAW process.
• Prepare groove using carbon arc gouging or grinding.
• Operate sub-arc welder and monitor weld quality.
• Adjust amperage and wire speed per WPS.
• Inspect welds and rework as needed.
• May work in other work centers when machines are idle.
• Participate in safety and LEAN activities.
• Follow Valmont quality procedures and practices.
