Job Summary
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Provides academic, developmental, and program advising on studyabroad options for undergraduate students in the Kelley School ofBusiness.
- Teaches and guides students to explore global opportunities,assesses their abilities, and plans a program of study tailored totheir academic, personal, and career goals.
- Assists in planning study abroad courses and incorporatinginternational experiences into the academic program to develop andreinforce intercultural sensitivity and global competencies.
- Develops and implements advising and pre-departure orientationprograms for study abroad students.
- Maintains an in-depth knowledge of offerings across programs,Kelley degree requirements, and relevant university policies;explains curriculum requirements, course sequencing, and campuspolicies to empower student accountability in academicdecisions.
- Tracks and monitors students' academic progress, maintainsconfidential records in accordance with Family Educational Rightsand Privacy Act (FERPA), and refers students to appropriate campusresources.
- Provides programmatic support for the growing portfolio ofshort-term programs.
General Responsibilities
- Develops and implements programs and initiatives geared atenhancing and reinforcing the academic engagement and experientiallearning capacity of the student experience. Projects programmingoutcomes at the program, department/division, or campus level.
- Interfaces directly with students, attending studentprogramming events and gathering satisfaction feedback from studentparticipants to implement into future student programminginitiatives and objectives.
- Collaborates with staff in own department and otherdepartments, as well as academic and campus leaders, on sharedstudent programming goals, often coordinating funding to sponsorstudent programs.
- Measures and evaluates effectiveness of student programsagainst projected outcomes; regularly prepares reports on impact tostudents and budget and may present to stakeholders oneffectiveness and to secure funding for initiatives movingforward.
- Serves on committees and performs student programming researchacross the field of higher education and at peer institutions toidentify and recommend best practices.
- Plans and coordinates communications for student programminginitiatives to ensure student participation and inclusion.
- May provide guidance to other Student Programming Specialists;makes process recommendations to manager for improved delivery ofservice.

Education
Required
- Bachelor's degree in education, social work, public affairs,counseling, business, developmental psychology, internationalstudies, or related field.
Preferred
- Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, orrelated field.
Work Experience
Required
- 2 years in student services, higher education, or relatedfield.
Preferred
- 3 years of experience in student affairs, academic advising,international education, or a related field.
- Previous experience working, living, and/or studyingabroad.

Working Conditions / Demands
This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and tooperate a computer and other standard office productivityequipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periodsof time moving around an office environment and the campus. Theperson in this role must be able to perform the essential functionswith or without an accommodation.
This position requires some international travel. May requireoccasional work on evenings or weekends outside the traditionalworkday to support short-term programs or recruitingfunctions.
Advertised Salary
Salary range: $52,000- $54,475 annually
