General Motors seeks a Studio Design Engineer to integrate vehicle models with Design across Architecture, SMT, Performance, Human Factors and Manufacturing. The role balances engineering criteria with design aesthetics using NX models and full-size/scale clay models, operating in a hybrid setting.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Engineering with 5+ years in related automotive design, strong communication, and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in automotive design/engineering
• Understanding engineering theory and automotive design principles
• Excellent oral and written communication; able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Create, refine and finalize engineering criteria and collaborate with design teams
• Lead development of integrated engineering solutions to resolve packaging and design issues
• Apply DFSS methodologies to evaluate trade-offs (cost, mass, timing, assembly)
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to align regional/global requirements
• Develop and maintain NX models and surface guidance
• Balance packaging with customer-facing targets (space, visibility, storage)
