Student Worker - Student Support

Salary Range: $10.00 To $10.00 Hourly

Job Summary:

The Student Support Student Worker provides primary support to the coordinating of testing services through the Office of Accessibility Services, as well as staffing needs for the reception area of Segal Hall and for the Center for Student Professional Development and Student Support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Participate in training at beginning of semester and as needed.
  • Utilize TEAMS as first line of communication with Supervisor and others in office as needed
  • Staff Segal Hall Reception Desk in rotation with other student workers.
  • Use ExperienceLink kiosk to check in students for scheduled appointments with CSPD staff, for testing, or for other purposes.
  • Create testing envelopes for upcoming exams to be taken in the testing schedule.
  • Creating a daily schedule of testing pulled from the full semester testing schedule.
  • Ensure completed exams are returned to the Administrative Coordinator as soon as the test is completed.
  • Check technology daily to ensure it is working properly.
  • Check testing spaces at the end of each day to ensure they are in order for the next day.
  • Adhere to strict policy and procedures related to confidential academic test information
  • Respond to student questions and funnel to appropriate personnel.
  • Answer CSPD and Segal Hall Reception Desk phones as needed and successfully transfer calls to staff, or address concerns as able.
  • Provide staff with the student perspective in order to assess effectiveness of CSPD events and resources, increase student engagement with the CSPD, and develop new strategies to engage the student body.
  • Data entry, email merges, and spreadsheet management.
  • Assist and direct faculty to appropriate resources (testing services and or Student Support/CSPD/OAS staff)
  • Assisting students with the following:
  • Greet students, inquire about their questions/needs.
  • Ensure all students sign in for appointments accurately via ExperienceLink kiosk.
  • Invite students to make an appointment if you cannot answer their questions.
  • Serve as a resource to answer basic questions about the Experience360 Program (E360) and resources: Summarize requirements, guidelines, and provide answers to frequently asked questions.
  • Serve as a resource to answer basic questions about accommodations at Delval and how to start the process.
  • Refer students to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Assist employers (CSPD)
    • Answer employer questions, take detailed messages or transfer calls to appropriate staff members.
    • Greet employers in a professional manner, including walk-ins and appointments.
Education Employment eligibility:
  • Currently enrolled Delaware Valley University student
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and provide required documentation to verify identity and employment eligibility

  • Strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
  • Must have an understanding and respect that all sensitive information must be kept confidential

Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasionally lifting 25 lbs or less
  • Typically standing or walking
  • Must be able to work within the hours of 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday – Friday. Hired students will work with staff to identify a set schedule for the semester.
  • Necessary to notify staff supervisor in writing via email of scheduled vacations in advance or unplanned absences, including absences for illness.
