As a Volunteer Intern, you’ll gain hands‑on experience in nonprofit operations while making a meaningful impact in your community. This role is ideal for students, recent graduates, or anyone looking to explore careers in social work, human resources, public health, nonprofit management, or community engagement.

Pay: $12/hour

Location: Merrillville, IN

Position Type: Volunteer Coordinator / Internship

Schedule: Flexible hours – Monday through Friday (minimum 8 hours/week preferred)

Reports To: Volunteer Manager

Since 1977, Meals on Wheels of Northwest Indiana has delivered over 10 million meals to neighbors in need‑seniors, people with disabilities, veterans, children, cancer patients, pregnant women, and others facing barriers to nutrition and social connection.
