Job summary

AVONDALE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Transportation Router/Supervisor to design and coordinate safe, efficient student routes for the district. The role combines routing logistics with daily operations, ensuring timely service and clear communication among drivers, schools and families.

The Transportation Router/Supervisor will develop routes, supervise drivers, monitor fuel and maintenance, and ensure adherence to safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School diploma.
• Must possess/maintain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (upon employment).
• Background clearance (upon employment).
• Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Experience in school transportation, logistics, or fleet operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain daily transportation routes for elementary students using routing software.
• Supervise bus drivers and aides; monitor performance and attendance.
• Coordinate dispatch, scheduling, and backup driver coverage.
• Respond to delays, breakdowns, and staffing shortages; communicate updates to families.
• Ensure compliance with state and local transportation regulations and safety standards.
• Prepare reports on route efficiency, mileage, and operational performance.
