Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking a Transportation Router to establish bus routes for students eligible for district transportation. You will select feasible alternatives for change requests and maintain the routing system, coordinating with staff to ensure safety and efficiency.

The role requires 3–5 years of transport routing experience, familiarity with Edulog software, and strong communication and organizational skills. Local travel may be needed, and the position is full-time and non-exempt.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Three to five years of experience transporting students.
• Experience with transportation routing preferred.
• Knowledge of safety laws, guidelines, and procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adjust existing special needs bus routes.
• Collaborate with routers, dispatchers, and drivers daily.
• Transcribe information accurately.
• Interpret and implement detailed materials and findings.
• Understand district geography and transportation policies.
• Demonstrate sensitivity to diverse student needs.
