Job summary

Omaha Public Schools is seeking a Transportation Router to establish bus routes for students, coordinate changes, and maintain routing systems. The role requires collaboration with routers, dispatchers, and drivers to ensure safety and efficiency for diverse student needs.

Experience in transportation routing and Edulog software, plus strong communication and organizational skills, are essential. Starting immediately with full-time, non-exempt status in Omaha, NE.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates’ degree preferred.
• Three to five years’ experience transporting students.
• Three to five years of responsible work experience with training in transportation routing preferred.
• Knowledge of job related safety, laws, guidelines, and procedures preferred.
• Successful experience with Edulog software preferred.
• Proficient with MS Windows and related software.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to read and interpret detailed materials.
• Experience in customer service and data transcription.

Responsibilities

• Develop and adjust existing special needs routes.
• Collaborate daily with routers, dispatchers, and bus drivers to route special needs requests.
• Transcribe information accurately.
• Communicate routinely and non-routinely as needed.
• Analyze detailed materials and implement findings.
• Know district geography and policies related to transportation.
• Support confidentiality of staff and student information.
