Job summary

Ithaca College is seeking a Terrace Student Manager to deliver outstanding customer service and support dining operations on site. You will multitask across shifts, train peers, and ensure sanitation and food safety standards are followed.

The role emphasizes running serving stations, maintaining knowledge of menu items and allergens, and effective communication with team members. Training and growth opportunities are available, with a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service is preferred.
• Ability to multitask and work quickly in a busy setting.
• Ability to lead and train peers and new student workers.

Responsibilities

• Help manage other students and run shifts.
• Train new student workers.
• Set up serving stations with all required items and cleaning supplies.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation and follow SOPs.
• Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
• Replenish items on service lines as needed.
• Break down service lines after meals and store food properly.
• Know menu items, ingredients, and allergens.
• Assist guests with inquiries and seek supervisory aid when needed.
• Communicate clearly with coworkers and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The main function of this position is to provide exceptional customer service to ensure optimal guest experiences. This position will require you to multitask, move quickly, collaborate with co-workers, keep a neat and tidy physical appearance, preserve all sanitation and food handling and safety procedures.This position requires standing and walking for the duration of the shift.

You’ll also…

• Help manage other students and help run shifts.
• Train new student workers
• Set up serving stations with all required menu items, service utensils, food containers, utensils, condiments, and items for cleaning and sanitizing.
• Maintain a clean and sanitized workstation, cleaning as necessary and when required by standard operating procedures.
• Take and record food temperatures at required intervals.
• Replenish items on service lines from coolers, ovens, and hot boxes as necessary or required.
• Break down service lines after each meal service and properly dispose of or store food.
• Maintain knowledge of all food items on service lines, including ingredients, preparations, and allergens.
• Maintain knowledge of unit offerings and operating procedures to aid guests in inquiries, seeking supervisory aid if necessary.
• Communicate often, clearly, and professionally with co-works and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
