Columbia Southern University in Orange Beach, AL is seeking a Student Support Specialist I to provide exceptional student service and resolve inquiries. You will guide students to the correct department and support enrollment or degree planning via email, chat, or phone.
The role involves autonomous problem solving, meetings the needs of a diverse student population, and collaboration with Student Success and Retention teams, with standard office tools and a remote-friendly setup.

Hours: Monday and Wednesday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday and Thursday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CT) and Friday 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (CT)
Location: Orange Beach, AL
Under the direction of a supervisor or assistant director; the Student Support Specialist I provides support services to the student population by the delivery of exceptional student service, encouraging students when applicable, and resolving student questions or concerns through the application of autonomous problem-solving authority.

When on campus, the work environment would be within a climate-controlled office setting mostly sedentary with frequent sitting, occasional walking and lifting, and frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. The noise level is generally moderate.This position requires working in an office setting with the use of fluorescent lighting. Candidates should be comfortable working in an environment with fluorescent lights, which may be present throughout the workspace.
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
