Job summary

Muskingum Valley ESC is seeking a paraprofessional to assist and support teachers who are directly involved in instruction with one or more students. This role operates under the direction of a licensed teacher to help with instructional activities, behavior management and related tasks.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit, and compliance with NCLB paraprofessional requirements; completion of a criminal background check (BCI/FBI) is also

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Ohio Educational Aide Permit is required.
• Meet NCLB requirements for paraprofessional status.
• Successful completion of BCI/FBI checks is required.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers by assisting in direct instruction with students.
• Follow licensed teacher directions and adapt instructional strategies as needed.
• Assist in maintaining safety and discipline in the classroom.
• Collaborate with the educational team to meet student needs.
• Monitor and supervise students in all settings.
• Complete other duties as assigned by teacher or supervisor.
