Job summary

ESC of Central Ohio is seeking a Health Paraprofessional to support the school nurse and ensure a safe, healthy environment for students in Whitehall, Ohio. You will assist with health services, documentation, screenings, and delegated care procedures in compliance with state regulations and district policy.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, an Educational Aide Permit, and current First Aid/CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Educational Aide Permit issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce per ORC §3319.226.
• Current certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED (or ability to obtain after hire).
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA, HIPAA and district policies.
• BCI and FBI background checks required.
• Respond professionally to staff, students, families, vendors and the public.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and short-term care to students.
• Assist with health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.).
• Assist delegated health care procedures per nursing standards.
• Maintain and update student health records.
• Support medication administration per district procedures.
• Enter and maintain health data in student information systems.
• Assist with Kindergarten registration health documentation.
• Maintain communication with the School Nurse about student health concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality of student health information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
