Job summary

Citizens of the World Charter School - Los Angeles seeks an experienced Student Support Associate to join a collaborative team focused on a high-quality, inclusive education. The role supports classrooms, outdoor play, and individualized students, reinforcing constructivist and project-based learning within a progressive, interdisciplinary framework.

The position reports to a member of the School Leadership Team and works closely with the Lead Teacher to monitor progress, intervene where needed,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree, or a minimum of 48 college-level credit hours.
• Experience working in a TK-8 setting or other high-quality educational setting.
• Experience in socio-economically, racially, and culturally diverse classrooms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher with ongoing student progress data collection and reporting to tailor instruction.
• Support social-emotional learning in classrooms and the yard to foster a positive school culture.
• Provide intervention support for students with special needs and for English learners (EL).
• Support classroom and outdoor play with safe environment and behavior guidance.
• Collaborate with other Student Support Associates on school-wide events and routines.
• Adapt activities for IEP/504 plans and support enrichment teachers as needed.
