Job summary

Wayland Union Schools is seeking a part-time aide to support students with academic and behavioral needs. Role includes supervising recess and lunch, providing one-on-one and small-group instruction, and assisting teachers with daily duties.

Position is 26.25 hours per week, SEIU Aide role, subject to background checks per the collective bargaining agreement. Employment is contingent on passing checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is required; an associate’s degree is preferred.
• Experience working with adolescent children is preferred.
• Discrete communication and confidentiality are essential.
• Ability to follow directives from professional staff.

Responsibilities

• Support building needs such as recess and lunch supervision.
• Provide academic and behavioral support to students one-on-one and in small groups; implement behavior interventions as needed.
• Assist teachers in other areas as directed by the Building Principal.
• Support building routines and attend to duties as assigned by administration.
• Attendance is an essential function for this position.
