Job summary

Hartford HealthCare’s Natchaug Hospital is seeking a part-time Student Support Paraprofessional to provide 1-to-1 IEP-related services and monitor student safety and progress. You will work under certified staff, coaching students toward goals while collaborating with teachers and clinicians to support learning.

The position is 30 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:15am–2:15pm, with career growth opportunities and a focus on helping students succeed in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with behavior management techniques and procedures.
• Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1-to-1 IEP-related services and direct attention to specified student needs.

Job Summary

The Student Support Paraprofessional provides 1 to 1, IEP - related services, and directly attends to certain specified needs of the student. Working under the supervision of certified staff, the Paraprofessional provides observation and monitoring of assigned students to support learning, ensure safety and prevent injury. Coaches a student towards established goals which increase academic success and decrease behavioral disruptions. Works collaboratively with assigned teachers, clinicians and other support staff.

This position is part-time, 30 hours/week, no benefits.Schedule: part time, Monday -Friday; 8:15am - 2:15pm. Career growth opportunities available.

• Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents in an educational or clinical setting preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
