Job summary

Hartford HealthCare's Natchaug Hospital seeks a Mental Health Worker to provide therapeutic interventions and participate in an interdisciplinary team. The role includes transporting clients from school to the program and home using company vehicles, and leading educational groups on mental health and coping skills.

Schedule: Monday–Friday; 11:30am–6:30pm, with summer/winter hours. Travel to multiple Natchaug locations as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• Current CT Driver's license with a clean driving record for at least 3 consecutive years.
• Ability to obtain a Public Service License A Endorsement within 90 days of hire, which requires passing pre-hire drug screen and DOT physical exam.
• Must have and maintain a telephone number for scheduling.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Transport students between school, program, and home using company vehicles.
• Facilitate educational groups on mental health, coping skills, and student well-being.

Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut's leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. We offers a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools and chemical dependency services. Program Summary

Natchaug's Joshua Center Programs treat children as young as 6 and as old as 17 who are struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpatient care. Services Include: Comprehensive assessment, which may include: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, and individual therapy, occupational and creative rehabilitation therapy. Natchaug Hospital provides transportation from school to the Joshua Center Program, and then to the student's home.

Job Summary

The Mental Health Worker provides therapeutic interventions for clients and participates as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team in adherence to hospital policies and core values. Provides transportation from school to our program, and then to the student's home using company vehicles. Facilitate educational groups focused on mental health, coping skills, and student engagement in emotional well-being.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 11:30am - 6:30pm, Summer & Winter break hours are Monday - Friday; 7:30am - 2:30pm. Will travel to all Natchaug locations, based on program needs.

• Previous experience with behavioral health clients preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
