Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Mental Health Worker to provide therapeutic interventions as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team. The role includes transporting clients using company vehicles and facilitating educational groups focused on coping skills and emotional well-being.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma, 2 years related experience, and a CT driver’s license with a clean record for at least 3 years.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2 years related experience required.
• Current CT Driver’s license with a clean driving record for at least 3 consecutive years.
• Ability to obtain a Public Service License A Endorsement within 90 days of hire, requiring pass of pre-hire drug screen and DOT physical exam.
• Must have and maintain a telephone number for scheduling.
• Computer proficiency required.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions as part of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Assist with transportation from school to program and then to student’s home using company vehicles.
• Facilitate educational groups focused on mental health, coping skills, and student engagement in emotional well-being.

Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut’s leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. We offers a variety of programs including inpatient and outpatient behavioral health, residential treatment for court-involved teenage girls, geriatric services, clinical day treatment schools and chemical dependency services. Through our multi-site network of care, we constantly strive to meet its mission in helping people find their way while educating and empowering individuals to participate in their own care and recovery.

Program Summary

Natchaug's Joshua Center Programs treat children as young as 6 and as old as 17 who are struggling with psychiatric or substance abuse issues, but do not require inpatient care. Services Include: Comprehensive assessment, which may include: Comprehensive aftercare planning, family, group, and individual therapy, occupational and creative rehabilitation therapy. Natchaug Hospital provides transportation from school to the Joshua Center Program, and then to the student’s home.

Provides transportation from school to our program, and then to the student's home using company vehicles. Facilitate educational groups focused on mental health, coping skills, and student engagement in emotional well-being.
