Job summary

Applitrack in Chicago seeks a Paraprofessional III to provide instructional and clerical support for general education, preschool, exceptional student services and behavior support programs under the supervision of the principal. This role requires patience, strong communication, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds and assist students with varying needs.

It operates within a nine-month school year on a classified hourly salary schedule with district benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; AA degree or 60 college credits or a passing paraprofessional test.
• Ability to support instructional and non-instructional activities under teacher supervision.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with students, parents, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction and classroom management under the supervision of the classroom teacher.
• Assist with individual students and small groups.
• Help develop instructional materials and training modules.
• Support student behavior and social skills development.
• Assist with enrichment activities (field trips, art, music, drama, recreation).
• Assist students with activities of daily living and mobility needs.
• Assist with record keeping and inventory of equipment and supplies.
• Monitor safety during transitions, meals, and recess.
• Supervise students as assigned by the principal.
• Assist with testing administration and scoring.
• Attend in-service training and perform other duties as assigned.
