Job summary

Illinois Education Job Bank is seeking a full-time paraprofessional to assist a special education teacher for a 10-month position in Frankfort, IL. You will support students with instructional and behavioral needs, communicate with teachers and staff, and help implement the behavioral management system under supervision.

Responsibilities include data collection, teamwork in a classroom setting, and supporting adjustments for student progress.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional License or Illinois Substitute License and a bachelor's degree.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and participate in physical management when necessary.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and follow directions from lead teacher.

Job description

Full Time (10 month position) - Assist special educationteacher with students. Ability to communicate with teachers, related service staff,and administration. Ability to work effectively in a team environment providing instructional and behavioral support to assigned student(s). Assist with the behavioral management system under the direction of the teacher. Knowledge of positive behavior and intervention strategies to motivate students.Candidate should be physically able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs. and participate with physical management of students when necessary. Assists withcollection of data to support student(s)academic and behavior performance.Perform other duties as assigned.

Salary/Benefits

Starting at $18.50 per hour, additionally a credit for up to 5 years of relevant experience can be applied for an increased rate
