Job summary

Kelso School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist students in math, reading, and writing as part of the educational program. The schedule is 5.5 hours per day, 188 days per year, with possible reductions for early releases and holidays.

The role includes English language support, record-keeping, assessments, and basic tech assistance. Collaboration with teachers, parents, and students is essential, with a professional, caring approach.

Qualifications

• Must be at least eighteen with a high school diploma or equivalent and meet one of the specified education options.
• Possess a valid PESB assessment or higher education credential as listed.
• Preference for experience working with students and demonstrated teamwork.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Support students in math, reading, and writing as part of the educational program.
• Assist in learning English and program implementation.
• Maintain records and produce instructional materials as needed.
• Administer assessments as directed.
• Provide computer and technical support to students.
• Supervise students in cafeteria, classroom, grounds, and community.
• Protect students, equipment, and facilities.
• Uphold school rules and board policies.
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
