Job summary

Kelso School District invites applications for a paraeducator to assist the special education team in day-to-day classroom and student support. You will help maintain records, assist with IEPs and progress reports, and supervise students across various school settings.

The role requires a high school diploma, valid first aid/CPR, CPI training, and comfort working with students with disabilities. Regular attendance is essential, with benefits aligned to the PSE1 agreement.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • First aid and CPR cards required or must be obtained after employment.
  • CPR/First Aid credentials must be current or obtained.
  • CPI training required or must be obtained after employment.
  • Experience or training with students with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the special education teacher with maintaining records and documentation of services.
  • Ensure timely submission of IEPs and progress reports.
  • Assist with daily hygiene tasks for students with disabilities when needed.
  • Supervise students in cafeterias, classrooms, and on school grounds.
  • Protect students, equipment, and facilities; uphold school rules and policies.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
