Job summary

Harbour Pointe Middle School, part of the Mukilteo School District, is hiring a paraeducator for a 6.5-hour/day, 180-day year with benefits. Anticipated start is September 1, 2026, with hours 7:50 a.m. to 2:50 p.m.

The role supports students with diverse learning needs under teacher supervision. Minimum qualifications include WA state paraeducator credentials and experience with children; preferred experience with assistive technology.

Qualifications

• Be at least eighteen years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• Meet one of the following: an associate degree or higher, 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at the 100 level or higher, an apprenticeship as paraeducator, or PESB-approved assessment.
• Depending on assignment, may be required to complete behavior modification programs and/or safe physical restraining techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with daily supervision to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect and maintain data, and update student records under the teacher’s direction.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with teachers and staff.
• Support diverse student needs and educational growth through various strategies.
• Provide clerical support and prepare classroom materials as needed.
• Administer first aid and provide physical support as required for ill or disabled students.
• Assist with meals, bus duties, and crossing guard responsibilities before/after school.
• Attend meetings and trainings to support school initiatives and student needs.
