Job summary

Mukilteo School District, Olympic View Middle School, is seeking a 1:1 Paraeducator for the 2026-2027 year. The role runs 8:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. with 6.25 hours per day and 180 days per year, starting September 1, 2026.

The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support under teacher supervision, assist with instructional activities, and help with safety and student care in various school settings, including recess, cafeteria, and bus assistance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of math, spelling, reading, grammar, and punctuation.
• Desire and aptitude to work with students.
• Ability to positively and professionally interact with students, supervisors, and staff.
• Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in a team situation.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage student behavior.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher(s) with daily supervision of students to maintain a safe learning environment.
• Administer tests, collect and maintain data, update records, assess progress.
• Monitor and manage student behavior; share observations with teachers.
• Implement strategies to address diverse student needs and support learning goals.
• Provide clerical/classroom support, including data entry and prep of materials.
• Provide first aid, medical assistance, and personal care as needed.
• Assist with crossing guard duties before and after school.
• Supervise students in cafeteria and at recess; maintain orderly environment.

Basic WA State Para qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Associate degree or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits

Completed an apprenticeship as paraeducator

Passing PESB assessments
