Job summary

Barrington Community Unit School District 220 seeks an Interim Assistant Principal of Student Support at Barrington High School to lead instructional initiatives and oversee day-to-day operations for students, staff, and visitors. The role reports to the Associate Principal for Student Services and the High School Principal.

The position oversees Student Success Teams, uses restorative practices, designs academic counseling frameworks, and drives master scheduling while guiding staff performance

Qualifications

• Evidence of at least four years of successful teaching.
• Strong written and oral communication skills required.
• Ability to collaborate and interact well with others.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the oversight of student behavior, attendance, and academic success for students assigned to one of the school's three Student Success Teams.
• Direct and support respective Student Success Team members to utilize restorative practices to help the reparation of harm and rebuild positive relationships between students, teachers, and the school community.
• Evaluate team member performance in cooperation with Associate Principals and Department Chair for Support Services.
• Utilize the National School Counseling Framework to create an academic counseling structure and obtain RAMP Certification.
• Assist with implementing the Illinois PACE Framework.
• Lead weekly Student Success Team meetings to develop intervention plans for all students.
• Collaborate with leadership to develop student schedules and assist with master schedule design.
• Monitor and adjust intervention plans based on data and outcomes.
• Supervise student and parent events throughout the year.
• Assist in supervising and evaluating staff and serve on committees as directed.
