Job summary

Barrington Community Unit School District 220 is seeking a Pathways Counselor to provide critical academic and social-emotional counseling services to students in the Alternative Pathways Program at Barrington High School. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling and a valid Illinois Professional Educator License, with experience in educational settings preferred.

The counselor will support student growth and development, assisting with college readiness, career planning, and individual academic counseling. Work hours are scheduled from 3:30 P.M. to 6:20 P.M., Monday to Thursday.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with School Support Personnel Endorsement in Guidance.
• Master's degree in Guidance and Counseling.
• Experience as a teacher and/or school counselor preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond to and process student referrals in a timely manner.
• Provide individualized counseling for academic planning and personal development.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings with seniors for career planning.
