Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 60 college credits or AA degree or para-professional assessment required.
• Social Security Card required.
• Immunity to Measles and German Measles.
• Valid picture ID required.
• Fingerprint/background clearance required upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom work under the direction of the teacher to support objectives.
• Assists with evaluating student progress and needs.
• Provides basic first-aid and care to medically fragile students under supervision.
• Assists teachers and parents in implementing lesson plans and developing students’ skills.
• Confers with teachers/parents to support student progress and objectives.
• Implements behavioral plans to support social and daily living skills.
• Supports academic instruction under teacher supervision.
• Maintains student files/records as required for safe learning environment.
• Monitors students to maintain safe and positive learning environment.
• Performs clerical tasks and scheduling to support classroom operations.
• Supports field trips by processing cash receipts and related tasks.
• Responds to emergencies to resolve safety concerns.
• Participates in meetings to improve skills and knowledge.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent/Designee.
