Job summary

Littleton Elementary School District Littleton STEM Academy in Avondale, AZ seeks a Special Education Paraprofessional to support instruction for 5th–8th grade students. Primary duties include one-on-one and small-group instruction, IEP support, materials prep and behavior supervision.

The role requires an associate degree or ADE ParaPro credentials, background check, and First Aid/CPR. Part-time schedule with ten-month calendar and pro-rated benefits.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of district policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of classroom procedures and processes.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques to support reading, writing and mathematics.
• Knowledge of programs for students with learning disabilities.
• Knowledge of MEDICAID in Public Schools (MIPS) guidelines.
• Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assists Special Education students in classrooms with individualized or small group instruction.
• Assists with IEP tasks and learning objectives.
• Assists in creating lesson plans and materials for instruction.
• Supervises students and supports behavior management.
• Completes required reports and clerical tasks.
• Maintains MIPS reporting as required.
• Assists with hygiene and self-help skills.
• Communicates with parents, students and staff confidentially.
• Enforces district policies and informs supervisor of concerns.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
