Job summary

KIPP New Jersey is seeking a Student Support Advocate (SSA) to help keep students safe, supported, and ready to learn. You will work under the guidance of the Assistant Principal of Culture, alongside Deans and staff, to provide hallway and small-group support while freeing leaders to focus on higher-level tasks.

You will manage a small caseload, observe students, and partner with teachers and Deans to ensure consistent, visible support across classrooms and common areas.

• Experience working with kids, ideally in a high school environment.

• Strong relationships with all stakeholders (staff, families, students, leadership).

Responsibilities

• Be present and visible during arrival, hallway transitions, lunch, and dismissal.
• Ensure clear, safe, and orderly student movement throughout the building.
• Redirect low-level behavior in the moment and refer ongoing concerns to the Dean or Assistant Dean.
• Support school-wide systems during arrival, lunch, dismissal, and transitions.
