Job summary

Tacoma Public Schools is hiring a part-time position that monitors students during District-sponsored activities to promote appropriate behavior and student safety. The role requires maintaining orderly environments and supporting check-in/check-out processes, with responsibilities during lunches, playground, field trips, and transitions.

Starting September 1, 2026, the position offers 3 hours per day (0.375 FTE) at $20 per hour, with 195 workdays in a 10-month year.

Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Fingerprints and background clearances (WSP, FBI) required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Monitors student behavior during District-sponsored activities, programs, transitions and events to promote safe, appropriate conduct.
• Intervenes to support students, following established procedures with principal support as needed; documents/incidents as required.
• Provides supervision and support in the school environment during activities and ensures safety during check-in/check-out processes.
