Job summary

Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona is seeking a Senior Coach/Team Lead to manage life and career coaches and support a caseload of students. You will mentor staff, guide professional development, and partner with instructors to design individualized learning plans that advance student goals.

You will collaborate with community partners, monitor coaching quality, and participate in leadership activities to promote a positive school culture and student success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree desired
• 5 years of experience in social work, mentoring, counseling, advising, or related field
• Experience working with at-risk students in a nontraditional setting and/or in adult education setting highly preferred
• Superior verbal and written communication skills
• Strong meeting facilitation skills
• Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred
• Ability to speak and read English proficiently
• Working knowledge of computer programs: Google applications (Gmail), Microsoft Office, Excel and Word, and Internet Explorer
• Ability to develop relationships at all levels and relate to a diverse population
• Awareness of community resources
• Ability to embrace change positively, strong planning and organizing skills
• Outstanding role model for success
• Ability to lead and mentor a team of coaches
• Ability to analyze data for informed decisions
• Able to attend school events, open houses, recruitment events, and fairs
• Valid driver’s license and clean MVR
• Background checks and screenings required

Responsibilities

• Leads by example with a caseload of students and monitors quality of coaching and records
• Acts as liaison between admin and coaches on the leadership team
• Oversees performance management, staffing, compensation, and development of team members
• Attends all team and professional development meetings
• Develops agenda and facilitates coach team meetings
• Travel occasionally for local activities
• Coaches and mentors staff to ensure student success
• Co-teaches Senior Seminars
• Plans and conducts coach professional development
• Manages intake process and outlines student educational goals
• Develops learning plans with instructors based on intake
• Maintains open communication with instructors and supports learning experiences
• Connects students with community resources to remove barriers
• Engages community partners to enhance support services
• Supports culture change efforts and attendance
• Performs other related duties as assigned
