Job summary

Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona is seeking a Coach at The Excel Center in Phoenix to advocate for students and support their engagement. You will manage a caseload of 65-80 students, build relationships, provide resources, and help remove barriers to progress.

The role emphasizes collaboration with leadership and instructors, data tracking, and guiding students toward graduation and postsecondary success. Occasional local travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or 10 years equivalent experience.
• 2 years’ experience in social work, counseling, advising, academic guidance or related field.
• Experience working with at-risk students in a nontraditional setting and/or in adult education setting highly preferred.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook, School Information Management System, Excel, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students and provide resources to remove barriers to progress.
• Triage caseloads of 65–80 students.
• Support student learning through tutoring and substitution as needed.
• Maintain open communication with leadership, team members and students.
• Attend team and professional development meetings.
• Manage and monitor students’ information to track academic progress.
• Develop class schedules and guide students toward graduation and postsecondary success.
• Initiate contact with community partners to expand support services.
• Lead intake and outline students’ educational goals.
• Assess life experiences for possible credits and connect students to resources.
• Ensure engagement and achievement through individual or group meetings.
