Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • 3 years of professional experience in an education setting.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills; strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to student services (ADA, FERPA).
  • Sensitivity to cultural, political, and geographical differences; ability to work with a diverse student body.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with campus departments and student groups.
  • Discretion with confidential information in line with applicable guidelines (ADA, FERPA).
  • Knowledge of college student development and staying current with research in academic and student affairs.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Assist and empower students facing personal, academic, or financial challenges.
  • Provide consultations to students, staff, faculty, and parents.
  • Engage in outreach to the campus community and improve internal processes.
  • Stay current on higher education trends and University policies.
  • Be available to see students who walk in, call or email the Dean of Students, Main office.
