Job summary

Herzing University is recruiting a Student Services Advisor for onsite work at the Orlando campus (Winter Park). The role generally follows a Monday–Friday schedule from 9AM to 6PM, with some evenings or weekends to support campus needs.

The advisor will guide students on academic and personal concerns, assist with program changes, orientations, and accessing university platforms, and collaborate with faculty and staff to address student issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in higher education, counseling or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least one year of relevant student support experience.
• Experience in post-secondary education or adult learning environment preferred.
• Experience managing student retention preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on academic issues, program options, and course selections.
• Answer questions and resolve basic issues related to bookstore validation and eBook use.
• Complete and maintain student scheduling and course revisions per University standards.
• Guide students on registration processes and program prerequisites in the system.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to support students facing personal or academic concerns.
• Organize and coordinate student-focused events each semester.
• Communicate with new incoming students regarding schedules and preparation.
• Enter engagement and communication updates into University platforms.
• Prepare materials for and conduct new student orientations and provide resources.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve student issues and take on additional duties as needed.
