Qualifications

• Education: Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field plus upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques, interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related.
• Experience: Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience which includes advising students individually and in groups, and in analysis and resolution of complex student services problems.
• A master’s degree may substitute for one year of professional experience; a doctorate may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer complex programs, events, and projects that support departmental objectives and student success initiatives.
• Facilitate student involvement in campus life through development and coordination of programs and initiatives that promote engagement and student success.
• Plan and organize work requirements and tasks within assigned areas of responsibility.
• Determine work priorities and select methodologies to accomplish program objectives.
• Provide expert guidance and information to students experiencing highly complex academic, personal, and institutional issues.
• Advocate for the needs of individual students and groups with university administrators, faculty, and staff to support student success and equitable access to services.

Education

Master’s degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work or related field

Doctorate degree with internship/training in counseling or related field
