Job summary

Southern Utah University invites applications for a on-campus Student Hourly Peer Mentor with the Disability Resource Center for the 2026-2027 academic year.

You will help DRC students with academic strategies, study skills, and career development in weekly meetings. This role requires a current SUU student with a minimum 3.5 GPA and a compassionate, patient approach to individualize instruction.

Qualifications

• Current SUU student in junior or senior year with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
• Experience working with, or willingness to learn, with persons with disabilities.
• Effective time management, organization, study and planning for instruction.
• Compassionate, patient and able to tailor instruction to diverse student needs.
• Proactive in personal professional development and aware of SUU campus resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a weekly academic/personal schedule.
• Set goals, study strategies and exam readiness support.
• Provide campus tours and introduce campus resources.
• Offer stress management and self-advocacy guidance.
