Job summary

SUNY Adirondack is seeking an advisor to guide students from matriculation through completion. You will manage an assigned caseload, provide walk-in coverage in the Student Success Center, and assist with career/transfer planning and course selection.

You will help students understand policies and navigate enrollment processes, while collaborating with campus offices to support underrepresented students. The role emphasizes inclusive advising, workshops, and programs to promote academic success,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in Student Development preferred.
• Working knowledge of Banner, Starfish, DegreeWorks, Career Coach, and educational technologies.

Responsibilities

• Provide advising to an assigned caseload of students and walk-in coverage in the Student Success Center.
• Assist students with matriculation to completion, including career/transfer planning and course selection.
• Explain institutional policies and navigate students through enrollment, financial aid, and other campus resources.
• Support retention efforts via calls, emails, and letters and assist with placement testing administration.
• Develop advising programs and workshops and collaborate with campus offices for inclusive student support.
