Job summary

This role covers First-Year Student Experience and Academic Department Advising tracks, coordinating with faculty mentors, using Navigate and Degree Works, and guiding students through registration and degree requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in any field from an accredited university.
• Three years’ experience in academic support services, counseling, training, or related field.
• One year of professional work experience as an academic advisor, counselor, or related role.

Responsibilities

• Direct Student Support: provide regular academic consultations to ~160 students and help build personalized plans.
• Support students who are underperforming by creating and monitoring intervention plans.
• Participate in the First Year Handoff process to prepare students for advising relationships with faculty.
• Advise on general education, degree requirements, course selection, and registration.
• Document student meetings, attendance, and progression in university systems.
