Job summary

Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated school-based professional to support student behavior and attendance for the 2026-2027 school year. This one-year position develops systems and interventions to create a safe, productive learning environment and strengthen classroom culture.

You will work with teachers, parents, and staff to address academic, social, and behavioral needs, maintain records, and drive data-informed decisions to improve outcomes for every learner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience minimum.
  • Three years minimum experience and demonstrated success in working collaboratively with other professional staff on instructional improvement issues.
  • Experience with alternative youth and service providers preferred.
  • Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle inequity in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in identifying student needs and provide suggestions or solutions.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and school personnel about learning, social, and behavioral issues.
  • Maintain a positive school environment through conflict resolution, collaboration and restorative approaches.
  • Perform attendance related advising to motivate students to achieve attendance goals.
  • Develop community partnerships offering programs and services for students in alignment with identified needs.
  • Establish and maintain accurate student records and analyze data findings for leadership and interventions.
  • Refer students to school counselors or social workers when escalated beyond academic concerns.
  • Coordinate with school counseling and staff to stay apprised on issues affecting academic performance.
  • Promote school and in-home literacy enrichment for at-risk students.
