Job summary

Statesmen College Preparatory Academy for Boys is seeking a Student Support Specialist to foster a positive school culture and ensure equitable academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support for students.

You will build relationships with students, families, and staff; participate in SST and RTI processes and support IEPs; and collaborate with administrators and teachers to plan interventions and communicate progress and goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
• Experience with school-aged students in educational or youth development settings.
• Knowledge of student interventions, behavior supports, and classroom strategies.
• Experience supporting Students with Disabilities (SWDs), English Language Learners (ELLs), or students needing academic/behavioral interventions.
• Ability to build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information.
• Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student achievement.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, supportive relationships with students, families, and staff to increase student engagement and access to interventions.
• Student Support and Case Management: Participate in SST/RTI and support implementation of IEPs with accommodations and targeted interventions.
• Collaboration and Communication: Partner with Administrators, Teachers, Counselors, and Support Staff and maintain communication with families.
