Job summary

Montana State University - Office of Student Engagement is seeking a part-time Student Success Coordinator to support undergraduate and graduate students from entry through graduation. The role emphasizes coordinating student processes, advising support, and collaborative program development with faculty and staff.

The position focuses on enhancing student engagement, recruitment, and retention across Plant Sciences and related programs while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Administrative, program coordination, student services, advising, or related experience.
• Demonstrated ability to provide excellent, responsive service and support to students, colleagues, or other constituents.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple concurrent responsibilities, track deadlines and outstanding tasks, and follow projects through to completion.
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn and effectively use information systems, databases, spreadsheets, and other software applications.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a welcoming and trusted departmental resource for undergraduate and graduate students, helping students navigate departmental and university processes, identify resources, and resolve questions.
• Coordinates undergraduate and graduate student processes from entry through graduation, working with faculty advisors and university offices.
• Supports faculty advising by assigning advisors, helping navigate advising systems, and coordinating substitutions and other academic actions.
• Serves as the primary departmental coordinator for graduate admissions, guiding applicants through funding commitments and appointments.
• Tracks milestones, requirements, and deadlines and communicates with students and faculty when action is needed.
