Job summary

Adams and Associates, Inc. Glenmont Job Corps Center seeks a compassionate Counselor to mentor and support young adults through their Job Corps journey. You will build relationships, help set goals, and provide personal and career counseling while managing a caseload and coordinating with multiple departments.

You’ll lead and develop leadership skills as an Acting Counseling/CPP Manager when needed, with opportunities to grow within the center. Valid NY driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Services or related field required.
• Minimum of one year counseling or related field experience.
• Job Corps or related program experience preferred.
• Valid in-state driver's license and insurability required.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with students and create supportive mentoring relationships.
• Help students create a plan for their future—educational, career, and personal goals.
• Provide personal and career counseling to address challenges affecting education or employment goals.
• Track student progress through academics, career training, and residential life.
• Manage a student caseload with accurate notes and progress updates.
• Connect students with Center and external resources when needed.
• Help remove barriers to success by coordinating with staff to find solutions.
• Encourage students through difficult moments and promote accountability.
• Support student retention and completion toward graduation and employment.
• Assist with student transportation for approved appointments or needs.
