Job summary

ACI Federal's Nemo SD center seeks a Guidance Counselor to support students aged 16-24 in academic, career, emotional, and social development. You’ll provide individual and group counseling, advocate for students, and coordinate programs to help them complete training and move into employment or higher education.

Collaborate with instructors, residential staff, wellness teams, and administration to foster a safe, structured environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field.
• Experience working with adolescents or young adults in an educational, behavioral, or counseling setting.
• Strong knowledge of counseling principles, student development, and ethical standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with diverse student populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group counseling for academic, career, and personal development
• Support student retention, behavior management, and goal setting
• Collaborate with staff to identify and assist at-risk students
• Maintain accurate case notes and confidential student records
• Provide crisis intervention and appropriate referrals
• Conduct workshops on life skills, employability, and career readiness
• Assist students with transition planning and post-program success
