Job summary

Grand Canyon Education, Inc. is seeking a motivated Student Services Counselor to advise ABSN students on degree requirements, courses, and financing. This fully on-site role in Phoenix partners with Grand Canyon University to support student success from enrollment through graduation.

The starting salary is $43,000 per year, with three weeks of new-hire training. You’ll engage in heavy student contact and cross-functional teamwork to ensure timely progression and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• No delinquent or in default on a federal student loan as verified in credit report.
• Outstanding customer service, organization and time management skills.
• Clear communication skills with professional representation of the GCE/GCU brand.
• Self-motivation and drive to succeed.
• High emotional intelligence with empathy for diverse students.
• Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Counsel continuing students on policy, payment options, and progress; financially clear students with funding strategies and required paperwork; collaborate with admissions and other departments.
• Provide counseling to prospective students via phone or email; promote Grand Canyon University student success and institutional growth.
• Act as a student advocate, ensure academic compliance matters are resolved before course start date; implement intervention strategies to keep students on track toward graduation; demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills in a fast-paced environment.
