Job summary

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts seeks a TRIO Student Success Advisor to provide holistic coaching and support to Scholars in the TRIO Student Support Services program. The role involves advising, program planning, and assisting with events, while navigating campus systems and resources.

The position is full-time for 10 months, grant-funded, with some evenings and weekends required. Reports to the Director of TRIO Student Support Services and may supervise student employees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience providing direct academic, vocational, or social support in an advising, mentoring, coaching, or similar capacity.
• Familiarity with experiences of first-generation, low-income students, or students with disabilities.
• Proficiency with word processing, databases, presentation tools, and spreadsheets (Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Provide academic and holistic coaching to a caseload of TRIO scholars.
• Greet students, answer phones, and monitor TRIO communications.
• Help design and implement success plans and monitor progress.
• Assist students in navigating campus systems and services.
• Support students in developing self-awareness and self-efficacy.
• Help students improve time management and organization skills.
• Document advising notes and maintain TRIO data.
• Contribute to planning and delivering TRIO events and onboarding.
• Assist with supervision of student employees as needed.
