Job summary

The Advising Associate at Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) provides frontline customer service in person and via phone, email, and chat to students, parents, and staff from the Arnold/Main Campus.

This full-time, non-exempt role requires a degree, strong problem-solving and communication skills, and comfort using the College’s information systems to determine application, advising, and registration statuses while meeting service metrics.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience.
• Ability to train new hires.
• Strong problem solving and communications.
• Use resources to locate information and assimilate new data.
• Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
• Tactful interaction with the public.

Responsibilities

• Serve as intermediary between stakeholders and campus offices with prompt, courteous service.
• Maintain documentation and knowledge bases for Advising and IES processes.
• Assist with training, events, and projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Support high-volume inquiries via phone, chat, email and in-person services.
