Job summary

University of Illinois Chicago invites applications for the Extra Help - Program/Student Advisor in the College of Medicine. This temporary position is limited to 900 hours, located in Chicago, IL with a hybrid workplace and a 37.5-hour week.

Salary is $33.01 per hour and this role is not eligible for benefits. Under general supervision, the advisor serves as a primary resource, mentor and guide to students regarding educational development, career planning, and personal growth, promoting

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Additional education or training may be required.
• Demonstrated work experience in the area of specialization may be required.

Responsibilities

• Monitors student progress and provides individualized guidance to support academic and personal development.
• Refers students to appropriate university departments or outside agencies for services and support.
• Assists with or coordinates departmental or campus-wide student recruitment activities.
• Provides guidance on admissions requirements, international programs, study abroad, veterans’ programs, and other university or external programs, as applicable.
• Conducts outreach to internal and external stakeholders regarding student programs and services.
• Provides information about university resources and assists students in accessing them.
• Coordinates student activities and provides guidance to participating students.
• Performs other related duties and participates in special projects as assigned.
