Job summary

Chickasaw Nation in Ada, OK seeks a Full Time Student Advisor I to support the Toksali SMART Career Advisor Unit 1. Office hours are 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday through Friday. The role focuses on guiding program participants in career exploration, academic advisement and employment training.

The advisor will help set career and education goals, coordinate on-the-job training placements and ensure timely data reporting while upholding the Chickasaw Nation Code of Conduct.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in directly related field is required.
• Zero - six months experience in counseling, career development, human resources, or employment services (training and job development) with specific demographic served by the Toksali SMART program.
• Pass general background check
• CN Core Leadership Level 1
• Standard Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Provide student guidance for career exploration, academic advisement and employment training.
• Identify suitable On-the-Job Training sites and place participants at these sites.
• Create participant training schedules and submit to supervisors in a timely manner.
• Monitor assigned participants (30-50) to ensure professionalism and adherence to code of conduct.
• Conduct corrective advising sessions and issue disciplinary action when warranted.
• Assist participants with career and academic goal setting and removing barriers to success.
