Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, MD, seeks a Pro Advisor to support students in transitioning to college and career.

The role collaborates with faculty academic advisors to guide students, develop degree plans, and connect them with campus resources for academic and personal success. The Pro Advisor delivers proactive, developmentally appropriate advising, monitors progress, maintains confidentiality, and participates in recruitment and orientation events.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, counseling, student development, or a related field required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in academic support, advising, retention, transition programs, or related areas in a higher education setting.
• Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, proactive, and comprehensive transitional advising to majors in the assigned College or School.
• Collaborate with the Dean and faculty advisors of the assigned College or School for understanding all majors/programs and supporting faculty advisors.
• Collaborate with the Dean and faculty advisors in the assigned College or School on student success and retention matters.
• Monitor student progress by accessing and analyzing key academic data including attendance, mid-term grades, course registration, and GPAs.
• Serve as a liaison between students and key campus resources, including Registrar’s Office, Financial Aid, Learning Services, Library, Career Services, and Student/Residence Life.
