Job summary

Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland seeks a Pro Advisor to support students' transition to college and career.

Working with faculty advisors, this role provides guidance on university expectations and resources and helps students develop personalized academic and personal success plans. The Pro Advisor will analyze academic data, refer students as needed, coordinate with Registrar, Financial Aid, Career Services, and other offices, and participate in recruitment and orientation

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, counseling, student development, or a related field is required.
• Minimum of two years of experience in academic support, advising, retention, transition programs, or related areas in a higher education setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic, proactive transitional advising to majors in the assigned College or School.
• Collaborate with the Dean and faculty advisors to understand majors/programs and support advising.
• Collaborate with the Dean and faculty advisors on student success and retention matters for each major/program.
• Communicate effectively with academic advisors and faculty on student success and retention.
