Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or higher education/counseling; college experience preferred.
  • Advising experience or coursework relevant to academic planning and student success.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review transcripts for program eligibility and transfer credit applicability.
  • Answer inquiries and resolve curriculum prerequisites issues for students.
  • Advise on major selection, course selection, and class schedules; monitor first-year standing.
  • Develop academic plans and schedules to transition to specific departments.
  • Monitor progress and discuss probation issues; advise on corrective actions.
  • Prepare and maintain files to ensure program requirements are met; generate reports.
  • Assist faculty and staff with records, evaluations, and data requests for admissions or graduations.
  • Assist in orientation planning and participate in events to support student success.
